Optical Brightening Agents are capable of absorbing UV light and reflecting it into blue and cyan visible light, which not only counteracts the slight yellow light on the fabric but also increases its brightness. Therefore, adding OBA detergent can make the washed items look whiter and more vibrant.
For products themselves, the addition of OBA can significantly improve the whiteness and brightness of laundry detergent, soap, etc., improve their appearance, and make products look more high-end and clean.

The following is a typical laundry detergent formula:
Content | Proportion |
LAS | 15-20% |
Na2CO3 | 20-30% |
Na2O·nSiO2 | 5-10% |
2Na2CO3·3H2O | 5-10% |
Optical Brightener | 0.1-0.5% |
Aromatic Essence | 0.1-0.3% |
Enzyme | 0.5-1% |
The optical brightener CBS-X provided by our company is completely comparable to a well-known European brand, while its price will be lower. It is mainly used in higher-end laundry detergent liquid, and can also be used for white or colored beauty soap. For cost considerations, we also offer relatively lower end products mainly for detergent powder.
Regarding the safety of OBA, multiple toxicological studies both domestically and internationally have shown that OBA does not have carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, or teratogenicity. For example, organizations such as the German Ministry of Environment, the European Union Detergent Association (A.I.S.E.), and the Japan Soap and Detergent Industry Association (JSDA) have conducted comprehensive evaluations of OBA, confirming that it is harmless to humans and the environment at the prescribed dosage.
Therefore, there is currently no authoritative research proving that OBA is carcinogenic. Although some argue that it may cause irritation or allergic reactions to the skin, these reactions are not related to carcinogenicity and have a very low incidence.
